How Can I trust the BrillianceScope's measurements?

This was perhaps the most critical question for us here at David S. Diamonds, and after careful research and multiple discussions with CEO Wagner, we believe there are 5 fundamentally sound facts proving the validity and credibility of the Brilliance Scope and its results. They are:

Fact 1: Adoption by industry leaders
The true proof of the BrillianceScope's legitimacy lies with its customers. After rigorous due diligence by their teams of lawyers, engineers, and gemologists, the world's two largest jewelry retailers, Zales and Sterling, have decided to adopt the BrillianceScope technology.

Fact 2: Sophisticated technology with heavy R&D investment
According to Wagner, "This technology has been developed and improved upon for over 8 years now." Wisconsin-based GemEx began in 1994 when a group of engineers from the aerospace and medical field were consulted to develop the GemSpec. The GemSpec is a widely used piece of diamond-analyzing equipment that works as an imaging spectrophotometer to measure the color of gemstones. GemEx took this a step farther in 1997 with the development of the BrillianceScope.

Fact 3: Built by engineers, not marketing people
This machine was built with an objective purpose by engineers, not diamond industry marketers. Wagner added, "Our expertise is in engineering (aerospace and medical imaging), not selling or marketing diamonds. We just wanted to leverage our scientific discoveries and make a third-party instrument that takes objective measurements."

Fact 4: Based on extensive database
Wagner stated: "The BrillianceScope's measurements are all relative, in that it is based upon a linear scale which uses comparisons between real diamonds as measurement standards. These comparisons are based upon a database of over 100,000 diamonds, which is currently growing by 10,000 each month." Furthermore, it seems that GemEx is constantly looking for diamonds that have ratings which go off its scale to constantly ensure the comparability of the scale. However the database already seems to be very comprehensive as GemEx has encountered few diamonds recently that don't fall within the scale.

Fact 5: Rigorous quality control
Wagner describes the quality control process: "GemEx employs rigorous quality-assurance to ensure that the consumer will always receive legitimate results." 100% of all BrillianceScope diamond scans must pass through GemEx headquarters for inspection to ensure there are no mistakes or tampering with the BrillianceScope results. When a jeweler creates a Light Performance Analysis to show to a customer, the LPA must first travel back to GemEx for quality-checking. Twice a day, technicians look at the scans to make sure there are no inconsistencies with the equipment, as GemEx knows where to look for errors and how to ensure the machine is properly calibrated. Thus, 100% of diamonds that undergo Light Performance Analysis are certified by GemEx to be accurate.
